For this month’s newsletter, Vicky asked me to pull together a list of my picks. Although I have only worked with Vicky for the past year, it has been a joy to be surrounded by beautiful artists’ books as a book artist myself. I am really drawn to artists that create work from thoroughly researched concepts, like historical events or theoretical principles. I love to see how these concepts are made more accessible through the artists’ creative relationship to the content. I am also enamored by beautiful materials and processes, so you will notice an attention to handmade paper, delicious printing and intriguing construction.
